Ministry of EducationMulti-lingual site and intranet

Task

The Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia have been long-standing clients of our partners at Cascade, and so when they required a new website integrating Cascade’s proprietary strategy software dashboards, Cascade reached out to us to fully scope out the technical requirements for MoE. They required a multi-lingual (Arabic and English) website designed with layout considerations for both cultures, that is both useful to external stakeholders, but would also enable confidential information to be shared across a multi-tiered user level group for their hundreds of internal stakeholders.

Outcome

The MoE website has a clean UX design that seamlessly toggles between English and Arabic, across every section throughout the entire site. As Arabic is read right-to-left, the website had to be a complete mirror image between the two languages, at every responsive size. Much of the content on the site is sensitive, and so when attempting to access certain areas of the site, users are required to securely log in using the SAML active directory integration. There are multiple user group definitions and access levels, which dictate the sections of the site available to the user. This includes the discussion forum which only allows certain user groups editing or publishing rights. The site also features; Events listings and registration functionality, a media section including articles, videos, publications and photo galleries, user polls, a user forum with commenting and voting features, a custom live Twitter feed with moderation features, a file repository hub, live integration with Cascade’s strategy software, and many more features.
